Squirrel ControlSquirrels are often spotted around many gardens of the UK with the most common being the grey squirrel. But don’t be fooled by the fluffy grey tails and acrobatics and potential taming. Once these critters work their way in to homes, they can cause damage beyond belief.
Squirrels can have two litters per year, early spring and summer, depending on food sources like bird feeders in gardens. They can soon over run and take control of areas quite quickly. Like rats, squirrels’ front teeth don’t stop growing so that they can keep chewing trees and vegetation to make nest from twigs, bark and chew nuts for food. They will also chew through manmade products such as fascias to gain access to a warm loft. Whilst foraging in your home they may inadvertently chew through your cables and possessions. |
Squirrels can prove difficult to remove from a loft but with well-placed traps or poison success can be made quite easily. They normally gain access to your home via the fascias and gutter line so proofing can be difficult if you are not comfortable working at a height.
